Hoo boy, have I got some commenting to catch up on. I've been gone, what, two days? And there's three pages backlog on my friends' page. This is like the website that never sleeps.

Also, it occurs to me that I didn't do a drabble last week at lo100. I'll have to make up for it this round, but it's Writer's Choice week, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Spring break's this week. I drove back home with [profile] elyle- at night, which kind of made my parents panic. Driving at 1:00 am isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

Of course, now that I'm home, I've really got nothing to do - we didn't get much homework over the break. So I've just been kind of sitting here, zoned out, doing nothing in particular. Now that I have nothing to procrastinate on, it's harder to get motivated to write/draw/do much of anything. I have been watching a lot of movies, though. And I played FFX for the first time in months. That was nice. And I've got a potential job interview for the summer on Wednesday, so I might actually have an internship this summer in addition to my part-time job. Of course, I've also been considering taking a Biology internship over the summer, since I've been pondering being a Bio major, so I'll have to see what happens there.

Also, Alan Rickman will be playing Judge Turpin in a Tim Burton adaptation of Sweeney Todd. Johnny Depp is signed on to play Sweeney, Helena Bonham Carter's in to play Mrs. Lovett, and Sacha Baron Cohen *may* be playing Pirelli. I may explode.

So. Er. Not much to say. But here's a meme, yoinked from [profile] rainbowstevie for your amusement. And now I've got some commenting to do...

1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.
Um....a lot. I tend to watch the same movies over and over again, so there's a handful of movies that I've seen a dozen times easily. Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Finding Nemo, The Princess Bride, Pirates of the Carribean...I could go on for a while.
2. Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in the theater.
Again, I do this a lot, but so far I think two movies have a record four (or maybe five) times to their record: Finding Nemo and the first Pirates of the Carribean. X-Men 2 comes in second with three viewings.
 3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.
I feel terribly shallow for saying this, but Hugh Jackman. Aside from the fact that he's a tremendously attractive human being, he's a very good actor and he's always watchable, even when he's in dumb movies (Van Helsing was almost depressingly bad, I still have no idea what was even going on in The Fountain, and my rage at X-Men 3 is well-documented).
4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.
I can't think of any, really. There are some actors whose movies I haven't seen, but that's just because I wasn't interested in the movies, not because I didn't like the actors (Gael Garcia Bernal, for example. Love him, just didn't really want to see anything he was in. Except Bad Education. And The Science of Sleep. Er. Yeah.).
 5. Name a movie that you can and do quote from.
I quote from almost every movie I watch, to a degree. I  think most of my quotes come from Pirates, Princess Bride, and The Emperor's New Groove, and I can quote almost the entirety of Finding Nemo on command.
6. Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Aladdin and the Lion King. XD Do those count? Also, I know almost every note of Chicago, and I'm working on doing the same for Moulin Rouge
7. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.
See the above. :) I sing along to Disney movies whenever I watch them.
8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.
The Lost City. omg SEE THIS MOVIE. See it right now. It's an independant film about a family falling apart during the Cuban Revolution, and it's one of the saddest things I've ever seen. It also offers a different view of the Cuban Revolution than you're likely to get from any Che-Tshirt-wearing wannabe revolutionary. *grump*

9. Name a movie that you own.
Any movie? Okay. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Ice-T, Will Smith, and Queen Latifah all started out as rappers, I believe. Of course, I never listened to their music before I saw them in movies, so it's hard for me to imagine them singing. :)

11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what?
My school had a drive-in as a fund-raiser for most of it's organizations. They played Back to the Future on a giant projection screen. I wish they'd done that more often, it was quite fun. We should do it more often.

13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't yet gotten around to it.
Brokeback Mountain. I've still never seen this movie in its entirety, in spite of how amazing everyone says it is. I have read the short story, though. Oh, and I've wanted to see Casione Royale since I learned it was being made, but I haven't yet.

14. Ever walked out of a movie?
Nope. I have a huge sense of entitlement regarding movies; I've payed $10.50 for this movie - probably $20, by the time we factor in gas and popcorn. I am going to sit in this darn theater for as long as that $20 says I can. So there, bad movie.

15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
Everything makes me cry in theaters. But The Lost City, which I mentioned above, had me bawling. Had my family bawling too.

16. Popcorn?
Always. With a little bit of butter. It's just not the same otherwise
17. How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?
Very often. Not as often as I'd like to, expecially now that I have actual work to do and I have to drive to the movies myself, but still fairly often.
18. What's the last movie you saw in the theater?
Er...I don't remember. Maybe The Fountain? I think it was The Fountain.

19. What's your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
Just about anything, really. Just when I'm about to give up on a genre, something comes along and changes my mind. I generally like comedies and action/adventure movies best, but anything goes. Although I'm not fond of horror movies, simply because I don't like being scared.

20. What's the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Some Disney thing, I don't remember which. Wait...actually, it might have been The Rescuers Down Under. Was it? When was that movie out? That's going to drive me crazy all day.

21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?
Oh, there are just so many. The first one that leaps to mind is The Tuxedo, a pointless, horrible Jackie Chan comedy that came out right after Chan decided he didn't want to be funny anymore. I hated that movie so much. Even a half-hearted attempt at MSTing it didn't help.
22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
Probably Pi. Bizzare, symbolic, didn't really understand it, but what an amazing movie. I'm so glad I got to see it.

23. What is the scariest movie you've seen?
I don't know. I try to avoid scary movies. Real life is scary enough.
24. What is the funniest movie you've seen?
I've seen a lot of funny movies, so it's hard for me to pick a "funniest" movie. Finding Nemo, maybe? Pirates? The Producers? I dunno. Get back to me some other time.
location: Home again!
Music:: A Little Priest - Sweeney Todd OBC
Mood:: 'relaxed' relaxed

Am totally STOKED for the Sweeney movie! I really hope Depp will play a good Sweeney, and I'm excited for Alan Rickman! I hope this movie does better in the box office than Rent and The Producers did, though. I don't understand why the two bombed. I thought both of them were absolutely fantastic.

Oh, and I'm totally swiping the meme. (:

Swipe away, dearie. XD

Only thing I've even mildly worried about with the upcoming movie is that I don't know if Johnny and Alan can sing, but I'm sure that won't be a problem. :) This movie is going to be awesome! I hope they don't cut too many of the songs, though.

have never been a fan of popcorn for some reason, I do like kettle corn.

I don't get pi either. I also think Vanilla Sky was also a very odd movie along with the Cell.

Emperor's New Groove is such a cute movie, I need to finish watching.

I might take that quiz too.

When do you want together are you on break? I want to see you before you have to go back?

I'm fond of kettle corn myself. And I haven't seen Vanilla Sky or The Cell. I wasn't interested.

I can get together tomorrow afternoon, if you want. I'll drop by sometime after noon.
