"Currently, the status of this gene and its precise function are unclear" = "I have no idea what the fuck this thing does, and frankly I'm sick of looking at it. It's your problem now."

I'll never look at an academic journal quite the same way again.

Also, for some reason, cheesy Latin pop music provides small comfort in these wee hours.

But they are! They complement one another so nicely! And didn't you see them snuggling in that one episode novel? OTP for-eva, I tell ya.

Hey, cheesy Latin pop is great for stuff like that. I need to find more of it ;)

This one's called "Oye Mar", by Chayanne, and sounds...very Enrique Iglesias. Except it uses the instrumental line from a Dulce Pontes song I really liked. I recommend it! (And can probably e-mail it to you, if you give me a few days.)

lol, I love Enrique! Especially his all-Spanish albums. Ooh, shiny new music? Yes, please!

Latin pop music as in Latin America, or Latin pop music as in ancient Rome? Because if the latter exists, I fear the world will explode from awesome.

Alas, it was not Latin pop music as in from ancient Rome. As you can tell by the fact that the universe is still intact. *sigh*

Soemone should totally do covers of pop songs in Latin, though. It'd be geeky and amazing and I'd buy them. :D

You know that icon that translates multiple technical academic phrases for the waffling bullshit they usually really are? This needs to join that icon. XD

It certainly makes a lot of Bio papers I've read a lot clearer. The lot of an annotator on a deadline is not a happy one. :(

I love that icon, though. It's funny because it's true.
