Am busy busy busy. Really should not be here. Really should not be awake, gah. But if I don't post this now then I'll forget it, and then there'd be no point to this entire exercise.

And now, on to the fanmix! It may be a bit squishy and shippy, because that's kind of how I roll these days. Just thought I should warn you.

This was going to be the cover, but even after I changed the design I liked this image too much to get rid of it. Hence filler.

A small musical tribute to the Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith, cosmic explorers, partners in crime, best friends, and masters of grab-hands-and-run-fu.

Track List:

1. Scarborough Fair/Canticle – Simon & Garfunkel

Remember me to one who lives there,
She was once a true love of mine…

2. Pop Song 89

Hello
I saw you
I know you I knew you
I think I can remember your name.

3. World in My Eyes – Depeche Mode

Let me take you on a trip
‘Round the world and back
And you won’t have to move
You just sit still.

4. Roam – The B-52s

Boy Mercury, shootin’ through every degree
Oh girl, dancin’ down those dirty and dusty trails…

5. It’s All Been Done – The Barenaked Ladies

I knew you before the West was won,
And I heard you say the past was much more fun.
You go your way
I’ll go mine
But I’ll see you next time.

6. Gypsy Rhapsody – Bond

Instrumental

7. Praise You – Fatboy Slim

We’ve come a long long way together
Through the hard times and the good.
I’ve got to celebrate you, baby.
I’ve got to praise you like I should.

8. You’re My Best Friend – Queen

I've been wandering ‘round
But I still come back to you
In rain or shine
You've stood by me girl

9. I Want To Hold Your Hand – The Beatles

Oh yeah, I'll tell you something,
I think you'll understand.
When I'll say that something
I want to hold your hand…

10. One Day I’ll Fly Away – Nicole Kidman (from the soundtrack to Moulin Rouge)

One day I’ll fly away,
Leave all this to yesterday.
Why live life from dream to dream
And dread the day when dreaming ends?

11. Walk on the Ocean – Toad the Wet Sprocket

Don’t even have pictures,
Just memories to hold.
They grow sweeter each season
As we slowly grow old…

12. Come So Far (Got So Far To Go) – Queen Latifah and the cast of Hairspray (2007 film version)

So shine that light
Take my hand
And let’s dance into tomorrow land,’cause
I know we’ve come so far
But we’ve got so far to go!

13. Scarborough Fair (Reprise) – Sarah Brightman

Remember me to one who lives there…

Sounds delightful, off to give it a listen! Looks like the "Day O' Classic Round 3: Electric Pertwee Boogaloo" title has sparked off quite a bit of lovely Three stuff, amongst others.

I know, right? For once I'm not the only person posting Three content on any given day. It's sort of dizzying. I don't quite know what to do with myself. XD

And such variety! He's turned up in your multi-Era fanmix, my art, and some fic-- PR0N, in fact! If I could bake [livejournal.com profile] ionlylurkhere an epic cake of interwebs and frost it with LULZ, I would.

Ooh, great choice of songs! And grah, I have no Sarah Jane icon, so have some happy Jo instead. :)

I especially love the inclusion of You're My Best Friend, both because I'm a Queen nut and because it's so perfect for those two.
Also, it's interesting to see that you have Scarborough Fair in here, as I've also used it in a "writing mix" I've made for the OC companion that I'll be introducing in my girl!Doctor fics soon - only the choice in this case is because of a different part of the lyrics. And I didn't know about the Sarah Brightman cover (I do have one by the Moody Blues' guitarist Justin Hayward, though), so even if a fanmix of those two didn't fascinate me, that song alone would be reason enough for me to snag this.

I know, me neither! So many companions, so little icon space.

Scarborough Fair strikes me as a very good companions song in general (as does Walk on the Ocean), with its wistful tone and occasionally fanciful lyrics, but it seemed especially appropriate for a companion that the Doctor's come back to, after all this time. The Sarah Brightman version's lovely, too - it doesn't include the Canticle lyrics, but it's got this gorgeous piano bridge that makes up for it.

OMG YAY TITLE. Can't d/l now, but I will when I can. OBVIOUSLY.

ETA: Oooh, you used Scarborough Fair. I saw another mix for them that used Girl from the North Country and since your song is actually inspired by that song...that's awesome. It's like the universe is saying something about Doctor/Sarah. XD Also, B-52s!!!! How perfect for them is that band?! <3

HEE. The title amuses me. I thought for a moment that it might be too much, but then I thought better of it. :D

Scarborough Fair is such a companion song to me, but it especially works for the Doctor and Sarah; the wistful and reminiscent but not depressed tone really works for them. And I haven't heard "Girl from the North Country" yet, but I'll have to give it a listen.

There are very, very few mixes that could not use a B-52s song somewhere. XD

"There are very, very few mixes that could not use a B-52s song somewhere. XD"

SO TRUE.

(It's by Bob Dylan, and he's also got a version where he duets with Johnny Cash.)
