Guys guys guys.
rhia_starsong is letting me borrow her headphones to use with my iPod while my earbuds are pitiful and shredded, and whoa. I can actually hear my music, guys! I can hear it when the volume is at maybe one-fourth of the maximum, instead of turning it up almost all the way like I have to do with my earbuds! And the bass! It vibrates. It is a revelation.
What is not a revelation: Chem exam tomorrow morning augh. I feel bad disliking this subject to the extent that I do, because my Chem teacher is super-nice, but seriously, merely being in a room where Chemistry is being taught drains my life force like a vampire. I started nodding off during this afternoon's study session. It was at 4:30 p.m.. I wasn't even particularly tired.
(Well, no, actually, I was tired. Just no more so than usual.)
Also, the room has not been cleaned in weeks, and my books are strewn about the place, and every time I walk across the unvacuumed carpet I feel a sting of guilt for allowing my surroundings to fall into such disrepair. Oh, and we've had no food in Chateau Dormitory for about a week.
In my defense, this past week has been madness. The weekend looks like madness too, given that my next Big Huge Essay is due on Tuesday and I'd rather not pull that one out of my ass, but I will set aside time to clean, sleep, and possibly write fic, because naturally not having the time to write makes me want to do so quite badly.
I really, truly don't understand writers who manage to get fic written every week - or, even more mind-bogglingly, every day. And these are good authors I'm talking about, too, not twelve-year-olds transcribing their chat logs. Never mind how you can be that inspired and that dedicated and consistently produce quality that frequently - how do you even find time?
Er. Now that I read it, that sounds more spiteful than I wanted it to be. I didn't mean to sound unpleasant, because I bear no ill will towards you prolific people; point in fact I am speechlessly impressed by you. But I also cannot wrap my brain around that concept.
Beh. Am so dead.

Of course, she also attends State U, which means a greater ability to structure her days the way she wants, and probably a less intense day-to-day school experience. YMMV.

Hmm.

You have to be very disciplined to be able to write like that every day, and, I think, very lucky in your muse and imagination!
