Personally, I try to bend canon as much as I can to fit my personal views. In my mind, chapter 1 of my fic took place between The Three Doctors and Carnival of Monsters (there's just no way Three's first journey after his release from exile would be anywhere else but 1746 Scotland), so there's a chance Jo would have stopped to get some clothes after saving Jamie.

Excellent point! I keep forgetting that the trip they began at the end of The Three Doctors and the trip intended for Metebilis Three weren't necessarily the same thing. And that does give Jo the chance to meet Jamie take a bit of a breather in between.

Deep dark secret: I kind of ship them. I don't know how it would work, but I ship them. They would be so cute together! And if it was pre-mindwipe they could both tease their respective boyfriends about not being able to drive and giggle a lot behind their backs. And if it was post-mindwipe...look, I don't indulge in hurt/comfort or anything resembling it very often, but she would be ever so sweet to poor confused Jamie. Yes she would.
