I've got this sudden urge to write fic where Jo Grant wearing an Emma Peel catsuit is a plot point of some sort. And Three, somehow, ends up in a John Steed suit and bowler hat. And they go spying or something, and take turns saving each other's lives. And there's banter.

I also want the adventures of Sarah Jane and Harry and Four in the 1920s. Preferably in period costume. But I think that's just because I've fallen a bit in love with 1920s fashion in general.

I think perhaps I should do a few short fics for [livejournal.com profile] whoniverse1000 before I commit to something ambitious, but even those keep turning into something long.

Or perhaps a longer break is called for.
---

Also, [livejournal.com profile] rhia_starsong and I just finished up the first season of Eureka tonight, and I have to ask. Of all the slash I've seen for Eureka (and there's so little fic to begin with, even less slash), it's all been Jack/Nathan. And frankly, I'm just not seeing that. The amount of Jack/Henry within the actual canon, on the other hand, blew me away. So...basically I'm asking: where's the Jack/Henry fic?

Where's the fic, period? I mean, the show's good enough that I don't really need fic - but I'd like some. And while we're talking, what about the Jo/Taggart? Or the Taggart fic at all? I rather like Taggart. More than I remembered doing the first time around.

Although, to be honest, I don't know what you'd write fic about for Eureka. I keep trying to write it, but I just can't think of anything I really want to see written. Hmm.

I WILL TOTALLY ILLUSTRATE BOTH OF THOSE FICS, SHOULD YOU WRITE THEM.

Ahem. I, too, love period fashion. I just finished some B&W 1947 Torchwood Noir art for that Fall Fandom Free-for-All today! I'm starting a university class on Costume History next week and have been pouring over my shiny shiny textbook for the past three months.

OMG OMG I WANT TO SEE THOSE IMAGES. I may just have to think seriously about writing them now.

And you will, of course, be posting the Torchwood Noir art at your journal? Because I want to see that too. :D Noir style is such a weakness of mine.

I don't know why I've fallen so hard for period fashion recently, and the 20s in particular, but really, if any decade is going to "come back" in the fashion world, I'd rather it be the 20s. The 20s had class.

You have yourself a deal. Write it first and be very specific about the clothing and the year.

The TW Noir will be up at my journal next week or so, in the Summer Art Dump celebrating my return to civilization fast internet at college.

20s clothing is so much fun. But it's not the most flattering on me. Flapper bitches just can't handle these curves! Thus, the 50s look better.

*salutes* Heh, now all I need is, you know, a plot.

20s styles don't look all that great on me either - I haven't the slim build for it - but I love seeing it on other people. And I love more modern looks inspired by it. And I think Sarah Jane would looks incredibly cute in a cloche hat and fringes. :D

Psh, plot is secondary to gorgeous period costumes, RIGHT? Goodness knows they've saved more movies than I can count!

I have a great chart detailing where waistlines and skirt hems were in any given month of a year for the entire decade of the 1920s.

I'm sure SJS would look lovely, and we already know Harry can pull off a bowler well.

Oh, me too - the entire reason I watched that Marie Antoinette and, to an extent, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, was for the costumes. But it works less well in text. I should at least make a pretense at something happening. :D

...they varied by month? *is impressed*

And rather dramatically! I was impressed too! Hemlines were highest in September 1927, lowest in April 1923. Waistlines were highest in March 1920, lowest in July 1925.

Actually, if you're really curious I can send you a photo of the graph in the book.

It's taken me longer than expected to get access to high speed internet. Here is the chart!

OMG I WOULD SO CO-WRITE IT.

I hadn't actually thought of writing any of this, but I kind of feel like I have to now. :D

Gah, I hadn't planned on actually writing any of these...but who am I to argue. :D Besides, this gives me an excuse to look at lots of pictures of 20's clothes. No downside!

Yesplz! They've already turned up at Captain Jack and Ianto's civil partnership ceremony thus in a fic of mine.

Oh PLEASE tell me I'm at least a tiny bit to blame for that first one! And then write it! ;)

The 1920s Harry and Sarah one sounds like it would be totally awesome too, actually!

Haha, of course. [livejournal.com profile] wiccagirl24's Diana Rigg picspam didn't hurt, either. Now all I have to do is actually watch The Avengers for a bit.

Mwahaha, I feel proud. ;) Would my uploading some help? ;)

Actually, that'd be very helpful! I'm not sure where to look for it, and you've certainly piqued my interest. :D

Heehee, awesome! I'll see what I can scare up. :D

Plus, then you might write AVENGERS fic and Avengers NEEDS MOAR GOOD FIC like WOAH.

Thank you! It's very much appreciated, and I needed another reason not to do silly things like classwork. :D

You're welcome! And don't worry, you totally do. :D

Oh, your icon reminds me. Diana Rigg was in a Muppet movie. It's AWESOME. :D She's like, Miranda Priestley.

...I think I saw that one! Was it The Great Muppet Caper, by any chance? Because I saw that movie, but I think I was too young to recognise her.

THAT'S THE ONE. You should rewatch now you know. Muppets! AND Diana Rigg! It's pretty awesome. :D
