I've got this sudden urge to write fic where Jo Grant wearing an Emma Peel catsuit is a plot point of some sort. And Three, somehow, ends up in a John Steed suit and bowler hat. And they go spying or something, and take turns saving each other's lives. And there's banter.
I also want the adventures of Sarah Jane and Harry and Four in the 1920s. Preferably in period costume. But I think that's just because I've fallen a bit in love with 1920s fashion in general.
I think perhaps I should do a few short fics for
whoniverse1000 before I commit to something ambitious, but even those keep turning into something long.
---
Also,
Where's the fic, period? I mean, the show's good enough that I don't really need fic - but I'd like some. And while we're talking, what about the Jo/Taggart? Or the Taggart fic at all? I rather like Taggart. More than I remembered doing the first time around.
Although, to be honest, I don't know what you'd write fic about for Eureka. I keep trying to write it, but I just can't think of anything I really want to see written. Hmm.

Ahem. I, too, love period fashion. I just finished some B&W 1947 Torchwood Noir art for that Fall Fandom Free-for-All today! I'm starting a university class on Costume History next week and have been pouring over my shiny shiny textbook for the past three months.

And you will, of course, be posting the Torchwood Noir art at your journal? Because I want to see that too. :D Noir style is such a weakness of mine.
I don't know why I've fallen so hard for period fashion recently, and the 20s in particular, but really, if any decade is going to "come back" in the fashion world, I'd rather it be the 20s. The 20s had class.

The TW Noir will be up at my journal next week or so, in the Summer Art Dump celebrating my return to
civilizationfast internet at college.20s clothing is so much fun. But it's not the most flattering on me.
Flapper bitches just can't handle these curves! Thus, the 50s look better.(no subject)
20s styles don't look all that great on me either - I haven't the slim build for it - but I love seeing it on other people. And I love more modern looks inspired by it. And I think Sarah Jane would looks incredibly cute in a cloche hat and fringes. :D

I have a great chart detailing where waistlines and skirt hems were in any given month of a year for the entire decade of the 1920s.
I'm sure SJS would look lovely, and we already know Harry can pull off a bowler well.

...they varied by month? *is impressed*
(no subject)
And rather dramatically! I was impressed too! Hemlines were highest in September 1927, lowest in April 1923. Waistlines were highest in March 1920, lowest in July 1925.
Actually, if you're really curious I can send you a photo of the graph in the book.
