I mean, not only have I been bollocksing up my Chemistry work, but now I've managed to miss my very first required house event of the year. By sleeping through it. I can't be that sleep-deprived this early in the year.
It wasn't like I even intended to take a nap. I just lay down with the intention of giving my eyes a break since I'd been staring at the computer all damn day doing my Bio work and was getting a huge headache. And then I woke up two hours later, having missed the house event that I only had to attend for one hour. It wasn't like I even had to do anything. Oh, and they'd stopped serving dinner by the time I woke up.
The worst bit, though, was waking up and thinking it was 8:30 in the morning, and that I had thus not only not done my Bio work but slept through Chemistry.
It usually takes me a month or so to start screwing up like this. What gives*?
*Yes, I know this probably has a whole hell of a lot to do with my recent burst of fannish enthusiasm, but acknowledging that means giving it up.
And now I'm going to be up all night working again. Nnnngh.
*back to work*
[ETA] Oh, and in the back-and-forth e-mails, the other students working on the sequencing are using terms I don't understand again. Why did I sign up for this course again when I'm clearly not ready for or disciplined enough to take it? Someone tell me because I forgot.
Clearly more caffeine is called for.
[ETA 2] OH PSORT DATABASE WHY ARE YOU SO DIFFICULT. I cannot read you. You do not have the little data points that my template says you're supposed to.
It's late, okay? I'm not in the mood for this.
[ETA 3] There are 48 jobs in the Pfam database ahead of mine. While this is causing me great delay, and thus a bit of panic, it also somehow confirms my suspicion that everyone else is doing their annotations the night before they're due as well.
I feel slightly less fail. At least I'm fail in company, yes?
