You guys, the Doctor Who fandom's doing things to me.
It's been a long time since I've drawn anything - almost since last year. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm not as involved anymore with my old anime and video game fandoms; fanart was a lot easier to do then, since a certain degree of exaggeration was sort of...allowed. Once I started moving towards TV fandoms, to draw fanart meant to draw characters portrayed by humans, which was more difficult for me. As such, I began moving to fanfiction and doing fanart less.
And now, for some odd reason, being in the Who fandom has made me want to draw fanart again. But since it's been quite some time since I even picked up a pencil, I figured I'd start with a minor character and work my way up to the companions, Doctors, Masters, monsters, etc.
So I spent a spare hour or two today drawing Vira, from The Ark in Space, because I completely fell in love with the secondary cast in this serial - to the point where I've actually started writing fic about them. No really.
Expect a polished version, possibly even colored, at some point. I'd like to sketch Noah, Lycet, Rogin et al as well, but it's harder to find good screenshots of them.

Um. Anyway. I actually think her face turned out fairly well, since I had a close-up of her face available to draw. However, I'm probably going to redo her hand, and her little ressurrection gizmo is drawn from memory, so I don't know exactly what it looks like.
Also, I took a photo of the drawing rather than scanning it.
Um. So. Yeah. Hopefully this will revive my dormant drawing "skills", such as they are, and get me started doing fanart again.
Also, I'm totally shipping Lycet/Rogin. ftw.
