Seeing Harry Pottah tomorrow! *squeedances*

Actually, for some reason I'm not quite as sugared up and excited for this one as I was for Goblet of Fire. I don't know why. I'm not feeling the hype this year. I'm not even boucing off the walls at the mere mention of Deathly Hallows, like I was for Half-Blood Prince and Order of the Pheonix. Hmmm. I can't be Pottered out yet - I've had more than enough of a breather between this book/movie and the last.

That reminds me. I think a quick rereading of at least OotP and HBP is in order, just so that I have my facts straight and don't waste valuable time looking up people once I start reading. I intend to finish this book *before* anyone can spoil it for me. So there.

That said, I may be avoiding LiveJournal and the web in general on the day of DH's release, because the jackasses will be out in full force that day.

The guitar player was on the street corner this morning, playing "Fire and Rain". I hadn't seen him in a while, and it struck me that he's pretty good. I should probably stop and give him something, but the thought of doing that makes me...I don't know, nervous. I've always been cautioned about approaching strangers or giving people money, and I'm edgy enough walking the sidewalks as it is - I'm always worried someone's going to steal my purse or pull out a gun, even though it's a safe part of the city.

The Post ran a story a few weeks ago about Joshua Bell, considered one of the greatest living violinists. As part of a social experiment, Bell donned regular clothes and took his Stradivarius - one of the greatest violins ever built - and played for change at a DC Metro station.

He got about $30 the whole time he played. Very few people stopped to listen. Only one person recognized him.

The guitar player this morning made me think of him.

[ETA] Quick thought:

My lunch today consisted of a Pepsi pork sandwish on bagel bread.

Because that is what the world needs right now more than ever - more alliterative food. Hells yeah.

The Diet Coke is entirely ruining my fun.

(By the way, Pepsi pork is pork slow-cooked in a crockpot full of Pepsi, not pork with Pepsi on it.)

I've decided to start doing fic requests, in the hopes that new ideas and new stories will kick my own inspiration in the pants and get it moving so I can do the stuff I'm supposed to be doing. So, request something. Anything. A prompt, a title, a song lyric, a character, a pairing. (But please, if you do a character or pairing, try to give me a prompt/title/lyric/blurb to go with it.) Pick a fandom or leave it up to me. Heck, you could even request original fiction if you wanted to.

Fics from requests will probably be one-shots and may even be mere drabbles unless you specifically mention a length. May not be completed in any specific order or at any specific time.

Request away.
