Aww, it's great to hear from you again, but I totally understand feeling like you just had to get it done!

If I spent a long time on it, then in order to somehow 'justify' that time, the finished product would have to be polished and 'good'.

I never thought of it exactly that way, but it's a really good way of putting it! It's scary to care about something enough to put time into it, because then my jerkbrain is like, what, so you think this is going to be a masterpiece or something? Sigh.

Less sleep means lower inhibitions and less self-consciousness! It's just, you know, a shame about all the tradeoffs.
