Is she planning to pay for your grad school? Because I, personally, am refusing to take on any more debt until I'm sure I can pay it off in the future. The world doesn't make sense right now. The old methods of building a career don't work anymore. Tread water if that's what you have to do, but don't pay out the nose to do it. It really sounds like grad school would just another way to be unemployed without having to *tell* people you're unemployed.

Thus! I am repeating what other people have said--finish the app for the FDA job and keep your fingers crossed, and otherwise take the internship and keep the retail job. The internship sounds *important.*
